Hi,
I am trying to replace the bulb in the inner headlight.
Not the main bulb (H1 type). But the little bulb that is in the corner.

For some reason i am having trouble getting this out. Could someone tell me how to
and also does anyone know the type of bulb it is.

 

dont pull to hard .. it will brake your assembly.. try pulling slightly and twisting gently.. its a pilot bulb.. i think its a 5 watt.. not a 100 % sure.. its the same as all your marker lights and license plate lights..

 

[align=left]The front parking lights that are contained within the inner headlight units are W5W, the same as the marker lights and most of the interior lights. Unscrew the back light cover andpull the small bulb holder from the headlight unit. You may have to wiggle it a little, it will come out. Then just pull the bulb out and plug another one in. Dont push too hard when you putthe bulb holder backin, you dont want to crack the reflective housing.[/align]

 

ok i wiggled it and pulled a little and it would turn but it wouldnt come out

 

I had trouble getting my first one out too, but the other side was no problem at all. Try the other side then go back to the first one.Since youve loosened it up, it may just come out the next time you try.

 

Just keep at it. I replaced mine last week with LED bulbs. For as simple of a task as this should be it took about 45min to get both bulbs replaced. The driver's side bulb is the worst. It probably would have been easier to remove had i taken out the battery, but i have small hands so i was able to pull it out.

 

Just pull straight out - it doesn't have to twist to remove.

 

you have to pull real hard to get it to come out.

 

I have tried pulling really hard but still nothing.
It wiggles side to side so its some what loose but it will not budge in terms of getting out of the socket.
I might have to take it to a jaguar dealer at this point.

 

jim, put some azz behind it... it will pull out. I would have someone else try. you might be holding back because it is your car and you care.... have someone that does not care give her a pull.

 

If stuck it might help to turn but my bulbs weren't too hard to remove. I got a bulb with more of a blue tint to it at walmart for my city lights, take the w5w bulb and match it up with a similar bulb.
