Default case oil

Hi,
I tried a search and had no luck. I just replaced the left front axle on a 2002 X Type sport automatic transmission . I lost about 200 cc oil when I pulled out the axle. I need to know where the filler is and what type of oil to add.

Thanks
Ken

If you are asking about the transfer case fluid, it is a full syntheic 75w140 fluid; the original fluid was made by Castrol but and reputable brand will do. The full capacity is 600 ml but often a refill tops at around 400 ml.
I believe there is a thread which shows where the drain and refill bolt is, the procedure being either by suctioning out the old fluid or by tilting the car by a specifc amount (no kidding; this was the official Jaguar-indicated method).

Hi,
Not the transfer case. I did that already. This is where the front axles go in. I lost some fluid when I removed the left front axle.
