Default catalytic converter and 02 sensors

If anyone has a 2003 X-type I would appreciate your help it seems my Jaguar has the wrong sticker with the test group the sticker is under the hood on the front support on top of the radiator with a diagram I put a pic of how it looks like my test group starts with a 4 I was told all 2003 start with a 3 and 2004 start with a 4 so if you have a 03 x type can you please look under your hood and tell me what's the test group on your sticker I would appreciate I did go to the dealer ship unfortunately the girl at the parts dept could not tell me she was cute but no help but I'm sure some one here as a 2003 x-type and one last question I am replacing my front 02 sensors the ones by the radiator are those consider the upstreams?

Upstream refers to the first HO2 sensors and Downstream to the second in the exhaust flow.

In the above diagram, sensor 1 is Upstream and sensor 4 is Downstream.

When it comes to identifying replacements, VIN range is the detail to use:

Item 4 for Upstream; item 6 for Downstream. If you reply with your VIN range, I can post the sensor Part Numbers.

The test group may depend on what model year / emissions standard it was made to suit.

Yes it's a 2003 Jaguar X-type 3.0L for California Emissions I was told all 2003 Jaguar X-type for CA had the same test group that's why if someone has a 03 it would match mine

So glad this question was asked!

GGG - Could you please help me? Just bought an '02 3.0 V6 X-Type, (YESTERDAY and before I got it, I had known there were a few minor issues, one being the 02 sensor. One problem, I wasn't aware of there being 2 different 02 sensors. I know, I know.. shame on me! My engine light came on, then it was reset so it would go off, but came back on about 30 miles after it being reset. It's still on, and I was told that it was definitely the 02 sensor, but my question - which 02 sensor would it be? Should I just get both sensors and be done with it?

The CEL will have come on again after 2 'trips' because the fault is still present.

It could well be the HO2 sensors but before rushing to the parts counter, get the codes read. This will confirm or reject the advice that it's 'definitely the O2 sensor' and could give further relevant troubleshooting information.

Whenever you need to post about codes on the forum, post the actual codes and not what whoever reads them tells you they mean. Generic code descriptions can be misleading and it's always safer to cross reference the code against the Jaguar DTC listing.
