I hate to hear that man, sorry for the troubles...But you made a perfect example of why I always use the OEM Jag Filter...I hope it was a fluke..but Jag is still responsible 100%

Hello Speedracer,

I am sorry to hear about your car. I hope things work out for your car.

this makes me concerned especially since this happened at a dealer and I always get an oil change at a 3rd party mechanic.

I am surprised Jaguar is not being more helpful. I hope you are stern with them because it sounds like it was a problem caused by an oil change at the dealer.

Didn't he just say it was dealer-maintained? If anything that would only refute the "perfect example."

My money is on something anomalous like somebody forgot to check if the oil filter ring on the old filter came out when changing the oil or something like that. Again, this is if the third-party is indeed correct and the culprit is indeed the filter.

Regardless, tis a pity. Hope you can get it ressolved w/o having much a hassle.

I meant, that if I use only JAG filters and something like this happened, then JAG in no way can say it was fault of an Aftermarket filter..At least the argument would take longer with JAG to settle on fixing the problem..This way they are the maintainers and filter providers in this case and therefore there is no argument as to what should be done by JAGto compensate the owner...So, I always use OEM JAG filters.

That sucks man. [>:]I would hate to see any car go down that way. Let us know how that claim ends up.I also use OEM Jag oil filters. I bought a lot of 10 with drain plugs for like $40 on ebay. I go with OEM parts, even though I dont have any extended warranty. Just piece of mind for me.

If the 3rd party diagnosis is correct I hope you get the outcome yoiu deserve and compensation for their lies, denial and generally putting down barriers for you to have to get over each step.
You guys who fit your own filters, etc even though they are from Jag, I dont thinkno matter how goodyou are would have a claimas the work has been done by an unapproved 3rd party and not a dealer.
