Central Locking
Good evening,
Let me begin by saying that I'm glad to be here. Jaguar's a lovey car for the ones that can appreciate it.
Had a 1986 XJ6 back in the day but sold it long time ago and I recently purchased a 2003 X Type the 2 litre one. Very nice car. Gave me a very hard time with the fuel pump but got around that and it works just fine now.
The issue that I'm facing now is with the central locking. Co drivers door will not lock or unlock with the remote control. If I lock it from the inside it locks all doors !!!
My knowledge is a bit limited on the Jaguars so if anyone's some advice for me, it would be appreciated .
Thanks
Christos

I hazard a guess:
Since locking the passenger door from the inside locks all the other doors, it does not sound like an electrical issue.
Thus, it would have to be a mechanical issue on the passenger door module (i.e. the passenger door lock).
This is sadly quite common.
Here s how I fixed my problem (my Jag is a RHD):

If this does not help, try to find a replacement lock.

The way I understood "skyline" was that the remote locks and opens all other door except for the passenger door.
Thus, if I understood that correctly, it can't be a remote-pairing-issue nor a remote-battery-issue...

We had the same problem on several X-Types. As Peter_of_Australia already wrote, it's a mechanical problem. There were different faults. Either the lock was replaced or broken parts were replaced or repaired. If the fault only occurred occasionally, it was the microswitch fitted to the lock.

Yes, that microswitch is the issue. However, more likely not the microswitch itself, but the mechanical triggering of that microswitch does not work anymore due to broken parts (plastic!).
