Default Changing fuel filter- is it doable by a normal guy?

05 xtype
I was wondering what is involved with changing the fuel filter in my car. I'm semi- handy, but I don't want to screw up and need my car towed down to the dealership. Is it easy? Can a backyard handyman tackle this?

It is a fairly easy job.

From what I remember...there is 1 bolt holding the filter to the chassis, and 2 quick release fuel line fittings..no special tool required.
It is located passenger side in front of the rear wheel

Very simple job. The hardest part of doing this is finding a good jacking point (look just in front of the rear wheels, there is a frame support there or a large jacking plate that you can use). Beyond that, like was mentioned, 1 bolt holding the filter in place and then 2 clips holding the hoses to the filter. Squeeze both clips at the same time and pull the line from the filter. Just be ready to have a little bit of gasoline (petrol) come out of the filter and line.

Also of note, when you go to start your car the next time, odds are it is going to die on your shortly after getting the engine running. This is normal. Turn the key to the RUN position, wait a few seconds and then start the car. This should minimize any problems with keeping the engine running.
