Default Changing the radiator X-Type

Can somone tell me if changing out the radiator is difficut or should I have it done ? I own a 2003 X-Type and live in Phoenix AZ. United States

It seems to have a hole in it near the electrical cooling fans.

Thank you in advance for your responses !!

As far as I can remember, the rad comes out the bottom. It is held up by a crossbeam that unbolts from the lower rad support. Some items need to be moved out of the way/unbolted and the front end lifted high enough for clearance.

It's not as easy as some. But not impossible.
Do you have JTIS on your computer? That comes first. Links are in this forum.
Unfortunately, it comes out the bottom, so you need a lift or some pretty tall jack stands. There are lots of threads on the radiator. I even have one:

it's much easier than you think..........removing it through the bottom is one way, but once you have the bottom cover removed, spend another 10 minutes removing the bumper cover abd bumper and work through the front of the car.
be prepared to buy and replace the radiator seals too unless you don't care about keeping things up to spec.
i'm currently doing a lot of work on our cat and have found the car to be most enjoyable to work on by going this route.
thx to this forum i have found info on doing all the stuff i need to do and today discovered that the head light adjusters were broken and how to fix them as well.

here is the thread in which i am doing, and info on the radiator is there too,

hope it helps you.

You don't have to buy the seals. You can cheat the parts man...

For most efficient cooling all the airflow needs to go through the rad fin area.
The foam blocks air from going around the rad.

You guys realize of course by me saying you don't have to buy the seals, I mean you don't have to buy them from Jaguar.

Click me! I'm a hot Link! that shows how to do just as well on the cheap.

You may not need those seals today. But come July, you probably will.
