Default cluster not working

I had this problem for A while now.I finally bought A used cluster only to find
out that it has to be programmed to the car.I called my friend that works on european cars and nothing he says Dealer.
Well knowing that this is A Ford,I called Ford and talked to service about it,strike two.
I tried to swap out the circuit boards thinking that it might fix it.still nothing
so I took A closer look at the circuit board with loupe and found this surface mount device(SMD) off to one side as if it were de-soldered.
I soldered it and bingo everything works.
So I hope it helps some of you if not all of you with this problem.

AL.
