Default Continue the X-Type petition

hey guys, obviously it's nothing more than a gesture, but what do you say we start
an online petition (lots of petition sites available) for the continuation of the
X-Type with a new model after its current production run ends? Worth the effort? If, by some chance,
we do get a good number of signatures, we just might get the attention of someone, as immensely unlikely
as it is, knowing how the industrial production planning process works. Anyway, what do you think?

After speaking to Jaguars Paul Grantham the other week at the X type seminar, the X type will be produced until at least 2010 but they dont know whether it will or not after that.He told me to bear in mind that in 2010 the X type will be 9 years old which is a good innings for a car.

If they stop production now, then it will become a classic that much faster. Plus, the'll be less of them on the street and we'll still be proud owners...

Tell you what Buck, I dunno, I'd consider it.
I've driven diesels now for around 15 years and watched with interest as they get almost as quick and almost as quiet as some petrol models.
I had the 2.0 TDCI Mondeo, I think thats the same engine in the X 2.0 right? Had one out as a loaner the other day and it has some pull. The 2.2 should be quicker and have a bit more torque too.
Re the Auto - I've had manuals for year and enjoy actually driving the car, but recently with more n more traffic on the roads and much more stop start driving, I find that more n more I've been considering switching to Auto's.

Manual is a totally different car than auto! I would love to drive my car with auto but I know that I would NEVER buy a mustang without a stick much like I'd never buy one without a v8!

I think that some cars ( suit Auto) and others don't.
For example, on the Jag whether it be a 2.5 or 3.0 the luxury brand that it is, and the way that usually they just drift along seemingly effortlessly, they really suit an Auto.
My mother in law just bought a Renault Modus 1.5Dci and it has a semi Auto and it really doesn't belong there.
I must be gettin older. I've always loved the feel of a manual and really driving the car. Now after about 850,000 miles over 15 years as an Area Sales Manager ( glorified sales rep) spending half my life on motorways and in traffic jams, stop start etc etc, I find myself being strangely drawn to Automatics........lol
