Correct oil type
Trying to get correct information for engine oil type
Vehicle is a jaguar 2.1 x type , 2002 , Petrol , manual gearbox
Oil listed is 5W/30 , can't find wether should be using mineral, semi synthetic or fully synthetic

2001-2004 have somewhat looser tolerances (relatively speaking), and the factory recommends standard oils. (or, more accurately, they don't recommend synthetics)
I succesfully used full synthetic on my 2002, but if you have any weak gasket seals, the synthetic will find them and leak. Generally, it's best to use what you're already using.
Castrol recommends a full synthetic (Edge 5W30), which is what the 2005 I just picked up has been running on since 15K under dealer service.

I don't see an issue running full synthetic - as I have used in every vehicle I've owned, never had a problem.
I wasn't aware the NAS had the 2.1 Petrol?? While at dealer in Houston, only saw 2.5L & 3.0L. Anyhow, the oil specs appear to be the same for petrol versions.
