P0103 could certainly be the MAF sensor, but double check the wires to it and the plug. To replace it is pretty cheap and only takes maybe 5 minutes of time. If that code comes back right away then it is probably the sensor itself or the plug or wiring.

Don't know that specific code would cause the "Cruise Not Available" message to appear though.

Thanks

I read that in the Jaguar fault code manual I downloaded in this forum.

Yes.. I took it out a few times now to clean it. First time it was very dirty because my F^^&Q( garage has never changed the air filter in the last few controls.
Anyway, what I wanted to know is wether there is a quick way to check wiring. I have a multimeter but I am not an electrician and not sure what I would be doing would be right..

All I know is that when I put a multimeter on it, there is a contact flowing between that little glass bulb and one of the connectors. But that would not mean to me it is operational.

Not sure how I can measure the wiring inside of the car..

Btw, the "little glass bulb" is the IAT not MAF, see post #4 =

The wiring is so densely packed.. that I would be afraid to do more damage than good.

I have seen that post. As I suspected the MAF from the start I was very hopeful when i cleaned it.

I cleaned it with MAF Cleaner, 99,9 alcohol and just now again with wd40ContactCleaner. to no difference.

I will order a new one.

Yeah wd 40 (idk about contact cleaner, never seen that one) and carb cleaner are NOT to be used on cleaning MAF sensors, it leaves a residue. Use ONLY MAF cleaner on them.

When I just replaced my upper hose assembly, I forgot to plug the IAT/MAF sensor back in. The car ran crappy, fans doing odd things and it threw both codes. While running, plugged the sensor back in, it coughed and smoothed right out and fans operated normally.

WD40ContactCleaner leaves no residue (its actually really good stuff and obviously not the oily wd40), and I didn't mention or used Carb cleaner.

Is that an advice? To try it running..?

Well yeah, after you clear codes, clean MAF, then it needs to run to see if the code(s) comes back. On the MAF or IAT it usually occurs pretty fast.

MAF out, cleaned, reset codes, start car, (cruise remains unavailable) and put in the MAF, car stopped running. Error code back, after restarting the car.

under those circumstances try a new maf sensor.

you have a maf error code
you tried cleaning
you'rs not able to check wiring

maf sensors are sensitive. they sell a maf cleaner for that reason
