gasman, from the sounds of things, it is an ECU problem. The glowplug should only turn on when attempting to start the engine. The glow plug light coming on is telling me that the power is being cycled to the ECU. The question is what is cycling the power. You could have a wire that has gotten damaged and is now just barely making contact. now, when you hit a bump, that is enough to cause the wire to break, removing power to the ECU, then as the wiring settles back down, it can remake contact, causing the ECU to go through a start up cycle. This will also cause the injectors to not receive the proper signals to admit fuel to the engine, leading to the engine cutting off. This would also explain why the engine can be restarted and you are not getting any error codes (since the ECU is thinking you are shutting off the car).
