Dealer Installed Sat Radio / ACM - Photos?
Can anyone post up some pics of what the dealer installed Sirius Radio and the Audio Connectivity Module actually look like?
All the dealer is able to do is give me prices, but I actually want to see how these things look before having them installed.
Also, is the ACM installed INSIDE the center console or is mounted on it. I'm confused. Basically, can I plug my Ipod in and leave it hidden inside the console while I operate it from the steering wheel controls? Or does it just plug in some jack and then I have to leave it sitting in the cup holders or something?

BTW, I'm referring to the following Jag part numbers if there are any dealer type people out there:
C2C31222 - Receiver Kit (Sirius)
C2S42382 - Install Kit (Sirius)
C2S44674 - ACM
One more question - Does anyone know if the Sirius receiver can be removed from the car or is it permanantly in place? For what the dealer is asking I better be able to take it with me wherever I go.

this is what the acm looks like installed
the sirius gets mounted in place of your ashtray. it could be removed and installed into another car i would guess, but you may need to buy some sort of an fm transmitter (wired or wireless, wired sounds better).
another option is to buy your own and install it. i personally have a starmate replay and there are single din (read: half the size of the radio, perfect for the ashtray with a bit of trimming) mounts available. it looks almost identical to the one the jag uses.i actually have a spare one that has a slight cut in it if you are interested. you will have to dremmel out some of the ashtray (inside) to make it fit, or you could buy the spare ashtray i already modified to fit. hell, i even have both antenna leads for the jag to convert it to be able to use a sirius fm modulator that i will not be using now.i was going to do it to my X, but as it is my 'fun' car and not the daily driver i installed it in my work car. the sirius fm modulator sounds almost as good as the ACM does, with only the slightest bit of white noise when the radio is turned up allthe way. if interested let me know.

dunno what the dealer is quoting you for the sirius but they are listed on ebay for about $450, installation is up to you though.

yes the dealer has to enable the CDC. no real gotchas.. 'cept making the holes to pass the wires is a little bit of a pain if you follow the instructions.
you need to remove the radio, the console side carpets and the console armrest assembly. If that sounds challenging to you. Get someone else to do it. The wiring is all plug and play.

Thanks bojangles. I called up the dealer and they have a "special" going on for installation of the C2P13741, which according to dension.com/jaguar is 2 versions older than the latest and greatest C2C 40513 or C2C 40107 (which is s/w upgradable to 40513).So either they dont have the new version or dont know bout it yet. Is there anyone who has gotten the 40107 and/or the 40513 in the US ?
Even on ebay there was one store selling the 40107 but no news of the 40513 anywhere.

i just upgraded to a Kenwood DNX5120 double DIN dvd/nav unit so i won't be needing mine. I've never used it in my X-type Sportand it's just been sitting there. Remote for it is still in the plastic inside the glove box. Since my interior trim is carbon fiber, i would need the cigarette lighter/storage compartment that matches. If you or someone else can point me in the right direction, i can sell you mine for a fair price.

Hey guys, Jaguarparts.com is giving me part number C2P13741 saying it replaced C2S44674. Is this the right ACM I need to connect my '02 x type with my iphone? I really like the $236 price vs. the $360 they want for part number C2C40513. Thanks, happy holidays guys.
