I'll be going in the morning - compliments of Jaguar of Troy. (Thanks folks!) Can't wait to see the new concept - I thought it was "S" type replacement though.

Pictures DO NOT do justice to the XF concept car. It is GORGEOUS! My only thought was that it lacked some sort of retro look in a grille or lamp somewhere that would link it to Jag heritage, but the speaker (whose name escapes me) stated specifically that it was a move in a new direction for Jag, that the intent was to attract a new customer. Well let me tell you, it has a serious attraction to me right now, and I've always been a fan of Jag's traditional look.

 

if i can swing it, i am gonna head up to detroit tomorrow. always wanted to go to that auto show, and it's only a few hours away from cleveland.

 

Hey guys don't have the internet at home so I do what I can. I'll be going Saturday morning, they are supposed to open at 9 so my little brother and I are going to try and make it out there as soon as they open!

 

If anyone ends up going I probably won't be able to get back online until after the show. I will take many pictures guys. I have a canon digital rebel and 4 512mb compact flash cards and a little 64mb card. To those that think I'm speaking foreign that means about 800 pictures at about 4mb per picture. Basically a huge picture that takes up about 4 computer screens! Unfortunately you can't upload pics that big. But anyways my number is *********** if anyones ends up going on Saturday (January 13th.) Text message me if you want too either way. Otherwise I'll be back to load some pics very soon!

interesting story....

a few months ago my dad bought his 03 X from jaguar of novi. being from ohio and bred to hate all things michigan, i confused the place with jaguar of troy. so i called troy asking about a set of tickets for the auto show. used car manager, who was a very nice guy, said sure - no problem! come in and ask for me and i will take care of you. then i found out it was novi. called and talked toour salesman, who gave me a 5 min line of bull$hit about how jaguar is not giving out tickets this year. called back troy to apologize and explain what happened, and the guy there told me that jaguar never buys tickets. the dealership buys them and gives them out to customers.

i love it when i catch salesmen in lies. it fuels my zest for life. that salesman has an earful coming from me in about 10 mins.

anyways.... does anyone on here have any sort of hookup for the show? we are gonna be driving up today and wanted to check out the show tomorrow, but like rudy pointed out it is not open to the public until saturday.

 

I wish I would have had a connection to the show when I went but oh well. I went Saturday but I was dissappointed in Jaguars exhibit. My favorite part from their viewing was the speakers they had behind the xk R. I'll have pictures up asap but I don't have my camera bag with me, sorry guys. The xk r and the car up in the air (xf i think-never got a good shot of it and couldn't even see it) were sweet, but I was sad that they didn't even bring out the best x-type to show off. It was a crappy color and I wasn't happy with it. Every person that sat in it hated it. I do think though that Ford (in my opinion) had the best exhibit.

 

Shame Aquill, but post the pics soon anyways so we can have a look see.
