Default Is Dex-Cool Prestone anti-freeze dangerous for Jaguar x type?

Now that I have the second coolant hose problem in the same year, I am asking myself: Isn't maybe the antifreeze/coolant the culprit? I tried to contact the Prestone people about their orange antifreeze 50/50 prediluted antifreeze that I use but did not succeed. I however found terrifying descriptions by users of other kinds of cars than GM (Ford included) about it that it will "eat your gaskets and can make the manifold intake gasket to blow". Please tell me if there is something wrong with using Preston Dex-Cool antifreeze/coolant so that I understand better some coolant problems I had.
Thank you.

marcela, I cannot say that I have heard of what you are describing. All of the current coolants out there have been used by members here with no issues. Keep in mind that your car is now just over 10 years old and the rubber parts are starting to show their age. So, having a failure or two would not be surprising to me.

I seem to recall when I did the water pump on my X-Type, I used the Prestone Dex-Cool on my car and ran it that way for a few years with no issues.
