Default 50/50 Pre-Diluted Dex-Cool coolant in XJS

Hi again,
Is 50/50 Pre-Diluted Dex-Cool antifreeze mixture OK for my 95 XJS 4.0?
If not, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Don't know if Dex-Cool is any better for our cars. I use plain old Prestone in mine albeit the pet safe kind. Cheers.

I believe that on a 95 that ZEREX G05 coolant is better. Lower erosion and better water pump lubrication and less glugging.

Water pump lube from coolant is a myth. Pump bearings are sealed. No coolant gets into the bearings. If it does the seal has failed and will leak coolant.

You need to google types of antifreeze - I did this yesterday, by coincidence
I believe DexCool is an OAT type coolant (Organic acids) as opposed to the old style coolant or HOAT - again, google it.

I think the concern with OAT antifreezes is they don't mix with older style inorganic acid coolants, and you must totally flush the whole system rather than mix them.
So it depends what is in your system already, and how prepared you are to fully flush the system.

I use Total Glycelf Supra (or my mechanic does!) This is apparently a top product (according to Total's literature..)

Good antifreeze is critical for the Jag engines. 50/50 mix is ideal, unless you live somewhere really cold.

I use EVANS waterless coolant, absolutly no boiling or hot spots, 375*F boiling point, has no water in it, so NO corrosion, and is a lube, good for seals.

non toxic for enviroment, a lifetime coolant.

had it in one of my cars for 8yrs, never a problem. sold the car probably still in it 11yrs.
