So I finally did my transfer case on my 05 x type, with 100k on it. To my surprise there was still fluid in there, about 250-300 ml. I did the fill as describe in here, however I think i might have put a little too much in? Reason being is because after taking a ride today I noticed that there was gear oil on the ground. There was never a leak before. Is this ok? Where is the vent located on it?

 

Yeah that sounds like you put too much in and it is just leaking out the top. I don't know exactly where the vent is
