DIY Oil Pan Gasket and Rod Bearing Replacement write-up "How To"
Well here it is, finally finished replacing all the rod bearings in my 3.0 Jaguar X-Type. I wrote up a nice procedure with everything you need for changing the bearings, oil pan gasket, as well as cleaning methods, tools and part numbers, as well as plenty of pics!
Total cost with parts and tools was about $225. Much cheaper alternative to replacing the entire engine. With the new bearings, I am proud to say the knocking noise has vanished!!
I must say this was the most involved repair I have attempted. Hopefully this gives other people the confidence to do the job themselves!
Thanks for all who posted in this thread:

It really helped me out when doing the job. Any feedback or comments are much appreciated !
A few notes: I ended up drilling a hole through the TC as well as removing the oil pickup tube from within the pan. Also, removing the front 3 spark plugs made it much easier to rotate the crankshaft for replacing the bearings. Check the cleaning and inspection section before finishing the job and replacing the oil pan.
