I have been working on the doors with various issues and now the foam on the cards is falling apart and the liner on the door is also in pieces and the black tacky gluey stuff is a mess
Any ideas first on a clean way to remove the door liner and glue from the door
Any ideas on replacements of liner or glue
Any ideas for card foam replacement
I have that black tacky stuff here. It comes on a big roll with a layer of insultation. I bought it online form Aliexpr. or similar.
I tried now for quite a while to find out, how it's called, but I can't find it anymore. I use that and I re-purpose foam-packaging material from stuff I get in the mail.
As for the "cover material" try some sound and temperature deadening rolls like this =
BTW, butyl tape is also the sealant around our headlight housing lens that you heat to take apart to repair the cooked from heat brittle headlight adjusters that fail on our kitties. That's how I know about the butyl tape. I bought a roll to replace the old stuff in the headlights.

Yes, thanks, Dell.
And yes, it's the same stuff, which holds the headlight-housing together. And that also answers PCJags's question, of how to remove the old residue of that gluey stuff: With heat! (Heat-gun and papertissue)
I used the term "butyl tape" in Aliexpr., whereupon heaps of other silver tape was displayed, but I had one correct hit. And that correct hit called that stuff also "snake glue" - and if you enter "snake glue" in Aliexpr., you'll see heaps of listings...
