Default Double din stereo

Hi, I need help!

I've just brought a double din stereo to fit in my 02 x type, got all the fascias etc, but have come across the vent at the back of the bulkhead preventing me pushing it in flush. My question is, is it possible to cut out a section of the vent pipe and replace it with flexi pipe that would loop underneath, hence letting me push the stereo back into its flush position????? Or is this a complete no go???

HELP!!!!

I think it's a no go , only select double DIN radios fit right .

Default Defeat

I tried the double-din replacement route, not because the OEM radio had failed, but because I wanted aux input capability for my Sirius radio, and I wanted to 'upgrade' the sound. Tried several double-dins; they wouldn't fit properly, so I settled on a single with a handy pocket bin below. Then I realized I had lost the clock, the backlighting was the wrong colour (and 'way too bright at night) and the whole radio just looked out of place. I wound up puting the OEM radio back in, upgraded my (stock) speakers, and relied on the fm antenna route for my satellite radio. Much better in general; not perfect, and a lot of work for nothing.
