Hey guys. I have some trouble codes I was hoping to get some help with. P301, p1313, p1316 and p1647. I’ve changed all spark plugs and the coil pack on cylinder 1.

 

P0301 is a misfire on cylinder 1, the P1313 and P1316 are emissions codes saying what is going out the tail pipe are too high. P1647 is your bank 2 (near the firewall), upstream O2 sensor is bad. Seeing how cylinder 1 is on the front side of the engine and the O2 sensor is on the back side, you have 2 separate faults here. So, the easy one to deal with is the O2 sensor. This is simply a replacement of the O2 sensor most likely. Spend the few extra bucks and get a sensor that already has the plug attached. There are plenty of horror stories here of people trying to wire up the plug themselves and not getting things right. This sensor may be more commonly referred to as the air/fuel mixture sensor. Where the downstream one is simply an O2 sensor. Some stores will mix up the two and really **** the kitty off.

As for your misfire on cylinder 1, since you have replaced the coil and plug for cylinder 1, this leaves either a wiring issue or you have a failing fuel injector. The odds are more than likely that you are looking at a bad fuel injector. So, you will need to look at getting a new fuel injector and I would also recommend getting a box of replacement o-rings for the fuel injectors. They are just a few bucks and will save you a lot of choice words when you are pulling things apart and one of those o-rings goes flying and you can't find it (TRUST ME!!!!!). lets see what you have after the new fuel injector and then we can start looking at the wiring issues.

 

Sorry Thermo, he must've gotten you too early in the day. Bank 2 (Code 1647) is the front bank and the sensor is the easiest one to remove and replace just on top of the airbox. You need to remove the airbox to get at it. Remember Thermo's advice regarding buying a sensor. Get a really good one and not a Chinese copy.There are a couple of part numbers for the correct Denso one. I ordered a DOX-0430 one and received a C2S51801, which is the same and worked perfectly. Both are okay.
