Hi heres my situation. I bought a 2002 jaguar x type with 140k . It hasnt ran in two years . I charnged batt , alternator , fuel pump , and now it runs but no throttle responce. The plug to the throttle motor is good because i changed it with one out of running car and back. The plug was broken completely off when i got it . Previous owner had the green and red wires just stuck in to throttle motor until one day the car got a gearbox code and went to limp mode.

With all that said i traced the wires to the harness at ecm , ran tests on throttle position sensor and gas pedal , both good . Theres no power to red and green wire at the motor. I also checked pin 102 for power from relay and there is . My diagnosis is theres no power from ecm because when they were connecting loose wires to throttle motor they either grounded or touched green to red and shorted circut in ecm.

Ok so now i have an extra ecm out of a 2003 3.0 x type that i need to marry to my 2002. The jag dealer flashes for $187.50 but tells me i cant use a computer from a different car at all(i think theyre just trying to sell me one for $1600) . I think i can because i heard brutal mention it in another post. I dont want to repair my old one because its more expensive to repair($795) . If anyone knows where i can reprogram this 2003 ecm to my 2002 x type please let me know im in san antonio tx. Or a cheap place to repair this original ecm.

Brett, just bumping this up because I am in urgent need of the same information....How can we program a another ECU to our cars??
