can annyone help me out i have a 2006 2.2d x type and had trouble last week. car was chocking then into limp mode then next morning wouldnt start. got it recovered and garage told me it was the EGR a pin was broken. said they had fixed it but it has started again chocking and limp mode. i have noticed tho that the temp gauge is only goin up a little then every now and then it drops right off. might sound silly but would the thermostat sensor make the car react like this. garage have now quoted me £400+vat for new EGR i can pick one up for £100 and do it myself but not sure about the temp problem

I also had problems with my 2006 2.2D X type and had the EGR valve replaced under extended warranty 18 months ago. Last month I had it cleaned out, and now the engine is missing when changing up from 1st to 2nd gear. The local (Non-Jaguar agent) garage tells me there is now an electrical fault. The EGR valve should be getting 12 volts but is only getting 5 volts. Any thoughts from anyone on this?
