help, my sons 04 xtype had a right side body repair done. a lady backed up into him and minor damage repair. but now the drivers power seat does not work nor the heated seat on the drivers side nor the power mirrors. is there a module that was removed while they worked on the 2 passenger doors? thanks in advance. bob
mphy98, do you have an early or later 04 X-Type? If in doubt, look in the driver's door jam and tell me the month and year that the car was built. There was a slight change to various stuff in the car in early 2004. I want to make sure I get you the correct information. I am sure we can get you taken care of.
ok so the power seat, power mirrors, drivers seat heater, and the rear view mirror dimmer all do not work, all at the same time? any help? a picture of the engine fuse box with all relays in place would be great. thanks bob
Bob, looking at the diagrams, the seats and the rear view mirror are not related to each other except for being powered off of the same fuse box. So, the only possibility that I can come up with is that the wire bundle that has these wires in it has been moved and is now rubbing up against a sharp edge and it has damaged these wires, leading to the blowing of 2 fuses (F91 which does the mirrors and F66 which does the seat controls).
This may be one of those things that unless you are very familiar with wiring, you will be best served by letting a professional deal with this. You can try hand over handing the wiring. Then you would be looking for any damage to the covering of the wire bundles (you will know the damage when you see it).
