Default Engine Codes/Random Stumble

Hows it going everyone. I currently have a problem with my 02 Xtype 2.5. It will randomly stumble during acceleration but only when you have the throttle about 1/4 of the way down. it has happened only about 4 times in the last 3 months and seems to happen when the engine is cold. I have recently gotten the codes, read and have received codes. P0302, P1314, P1316 and P1000. If any of you have any suggestion on where i should start looking or remedies for the problem please help me out. Thank You

Sounds like is could be a bad coil in cylinder #2 or possibly an issue with the spark plug in the same cylinder. Could be some oil seeping in there and maybe you will need to change the gaskets.

XJag02, sounds like you have oil in the plug well. You will need to access the #2 cylinder and then clean out the oil. If you don't find any oil in the well, then most likely you have a bad coil. If in doubt, swap it with the #1 coil (front, right plug, closest to the US passenger headlight assembly). That way, if it is the coil, it is a coil that is replaceable without having to remove anything and make swapping it very easy.

XJag: The cylinders are numbered in pictures at the bottom of page 2 of this thread.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...w-62847/page2/

In summary,
+ Bank 1 with cylinders 1, 3, 5 is the firewall side.
+ Bank 2 with cylinders 2, 4, 6 is the radiator side
+ Cylinders 1 & 2 are near the serpentine belt.
+ Cylinder 5 & 6 are near the battery

Every engine maker has a different convention, even amongst US brands, just to make it interesting.

Good luck.
