Hey everyone,

My 2003 X-Type 2.5 Jaguar engine had died. I'm looking to see what other engines could I replace it with?

htkenan, for a direct swap, you have only the option of the 2.5L motor and the 3.0L motor. If you are willing to swap out the engine wiring harness and upgrade the fuel system of the car (probably more money that it is worth), you can also drop in the 2.2L diesel engine. Unfortunately, if you live in the US, the diesel option is out of the question as the car can not be converted over to diesel legally.

 

There was a user bout a year ago that succesfully put a lincoln Ls engine in his Xtype.
