Default Engine light and mis-fire

had it checked at a reliable local garage when engine light came on. They changed the plugs, put on the diagnostics but nothing came up. All seemed fine for a Cpl weeks then started loosing coolant and the engine light flickers on and off. Any thoughts/suggestions please. Thank You
Rob

Flashing = severe misfires doing catalyst damage

Do not drive it except to fix it or it'll get costly!

Go to someone with a clue as the one you mention clearly hasn't. Cars have been like this 15-20 years...

The most common areas where you would loose coolant would be the water pump (they seem to last about 100K miles) and the coolant tank. They are known to split or also the nipple at the top can get brittle.

As for the flashing check engine light, the misfire is so bad it can be causing damage to your catylitic converter. Have the code(s) read and post here. Could be a bad coil or something damaged/loose when they changed the plugs.
