Default Engine missing

HI folks
Still having trouble getting the engine 2.0D to run smoothly.
Had strange pinging noise on 2 injectors which I replaced with re-con units BUT that didn't cure it.
In fact, the engine is now lumpy with very hesitant acceleration and cutting out.
I assume that I have disturbed something else in the process.
Only thing I could think of is the electric connections to the injectors.
These I checked and was surprised to find only 5.37v on each connection, is that correct or should it be 12v?
The wiring diagram shows B+, so should be battery voltage.
I did have an issue with the ECM some while ago, just wondering if that could be faulty ( I had it checked out some while ago and the testers said it was fine) ..... now having CAN buss problems too in connections.
If the ecu is faulty how can I install a new one? ... I have JLR SSD + Mongoose but no internet, so no software to download.
Getting fed up with it now .... just want to drive the damned thing.
Any help appreciated.

The vast majority of fuel injectors are ground controlled. This means that of the two wires going to the injector one is held at steady 12 – 14 volts while the other lead is pulsed to ground by the ECM.

Fuel injector symptoms for bad, faulty, dirty, clogged, or leaking injectors are :
  • Starting issues.
  • Poor idle.
  • Failed emissions.
  • Poor Performance.
  • Engine does not reach full RPM.
  • Increased fuel consumption.
  • Rough engine performance.
  • Surging and bucking under various throttle loads.

Hi, thanks for that, appreciated.
If the injectors require 12v then it looks like that could be the reason for the problem.
As I said, all the injectors are only receiving 5.37v each, even when cranking the engine.
I'll see if I can check the appropriate pins on the ECM (I have the pin-out diagram) and see what voltage/s I get there.
I think the problem could be in the wiring/ECM and may possibly been gradually getting worse over time.

I've checked the resistance and voltages at the connectors on each injector.
Voltage is still showing 5.36v on all 4 connectors
BUT, I can't get any resistance at all, either with or without the key turned to ON.
Still starts but very lumpy.
Battery was charged beforehand and was showing 12.56v
Still suspecting the ECM ....

REALLY DESPERATE NOW.
Still not had any luck with getting the engine to run smoothly, still sounds like it's missing.
Got a new fuel metering valve and fuel pressure sensor on order, which I'll try once they've arrived.
Tried SDD again, loads of DTC's, mainly with injector circuits problems:
P0191 ECM fuel pressure regulator
P0200 ECM injector circuit malfunction
P0201 ECM injector circuit cyl 1
P0202 ECM injector circuit cyl 2
P0203 ECM injector circuit cyl 3
P0204 ECM injector circuit cyl 4
P2288 injector control pressure above expected level
B2141 control module configuration failure
Among many other DTC's
Remember, I was only getting 5.37v at the injectors.
Tried continuity testing the harness cables, all seem okay.
Replaced R7 relay (for EMS control of power to the ECM)
Tried another ECM with same part number ... couldn't upload the config files due to a communication failure ( proper Mongoose cable)
Worried now that I'll have to scrap it but can't afford another car of any sort due to spending so much on this one.
PLEASE HELP.
