Default Engine is in and running

A 2005 X-Type 3.0 w/48k was dropped in my 2002 3.0 X-Type. 1999 Ford Taurus 3.0 DOHC exhaust manifolds were bolted to heads. 2 1/4" pipe leaves each manifold immediately to upstream O2 sensors to a Dodge HEMI cat with two 2" inlets and one 2 1/2" outlet. O2 sensors are plugged in after cat, 2 1/2" pipe continues to a split above axle to a pair of Summitt Racing's stainless steel ceramic coated single chamber mufflers.
I spoke to the mechanic from work and he said the engine was quiet and running smooth. He took it for a test drive for 10 miles and all was well. Though he said the car took off smartly, he felt that the exhaust note was too loud for my tastes. I chose the mufflers because Summitt said they would emit a low rumble and were not loud. I believe they just wanted a sale regardless of my preference. I will call them and try to arrange a muffler swap. I will be sending out the 2002 intake manifold to be ported; possibly gaining 10 h.p. My goal for the exhaust mod, ported intake manifold, modified airbox w/K&N filter is 40 h.p. and 20 lb./ft. torque. Tonight I will visit the car, start it, and take a small drive. I'll keep yas posted. Happy Holidays.

Default Off with Summitt mufflers on with MagnaFlows

Summitt Racing ageed to pick up their muffler (20% restocking fee) and send out a pair of MagnaFlows ($69 each). I haven't visited car yet but will take pics under car, running, etc. Happy Holiday.

Default Will take pics from above and below

Hi Jim, I'll take pics this Monday. I haven't seen car and hope it works out. All I've got is the mechanics words that it runs good with no CEL after a 10 mile drive, etc. Hope you enjoyed X-Mas, be well.

Default Both excited and worried

Hi Colt, and thanks for the encouragement. I'm very excited in the respects of attaining what I imagined "what could be" in extracting more potential from the 3.0. In the same vien I'm concerned with the "I hope all went well" with the swap. In other words I'm both excited for and fearful of Monday. I'll take pics from above, below, and running. Hope you enjoyed the holiday.
