Exclamation Engine stuttering

Hello!

i have a 2009 X-type 2.0
I serviced my car a couple of hours ago and the mechanic replaced the engine oil with Elf 5W40, although the recommended viscosity on the cap was 5W30.

I realised that the whole car stutters as I accelerate from 1500 to 2000 rpm at 4th gear. He said that this was "normal.....the car is adjusting to the new oil".

Is he right!

Help!!

Thanks Alot!

Well, the newer oil is going to be thicker than the older oil that was in there (30 weight vice 40 weight), so, that is going to tend to drag some.

Honestly, I would say drain out the new oil and put in the correct stuff. Sounds like your motor is not going ot be happy till you get the lighter oil in there.
