Factory Navi Sys Installation
I just bought an 04 x-type model but it did not come equipped with a navigation system and I'd like one installed. I want the factory installed one because I really don't care for the handheld GPS systems. Can this be done if the car wasn't orginally equipped with it?

I think the original system also controls other functions such as climate control etc. I'm quite sure that your wiring loom would lack much of the necessaries.
I've seen (on this forum or the uk forum that is currently down?????) a really great job done in which the factory stereo was replaced with a double din system with a 7" screen incorporating cd/stereo/tv and satnav.
This might be a simpler option... in the US such equipment seems to be much cheaper than in the UK.
