Sounds like it's not a sensor/bearing issue then. With that, it takes the system a few stops to realize that something isn't right. So the light wouldn't be on right away.

You were saying that while you were messing with the ABS connector the light briefly went out?

yes when I opened the bonnet my dad had a play/wiggle with the main cable coming from the abs, when he disconnected it, it said dsc on and the light went off for a fraction of a second and then went back on and the display said dsc faulty. I gave it a clean with electrical contact cleaner but that did not help. Any Ideas what to do next??
Also my speedo is not working.

Yeah I was going to suggest cleaning the contacts but it sounds like that isn't your issue.

If it were me, I'd start checking every fuse that could even remotely be related to ABS or the instrument cluster. I would bet that the engine management light going off after you cleaned those sensors was just a coincidence. I don't think ABS sensors would activate that light. However, it is possible you have a bad sensor but you'll need to figure out which one it is.

Perhaps Thermo can chime in here as he's the expert when it comes to these cars

I have checked all the fuses before when my aircon was bad I thought it might be a blown fuse so I checked all of them and are perfectly fine, so the next thing I will be doing is having a look at the abs rings on the rear axle and changing the brake pads later on this week.
For the front can I just replace the abs rings or do I need to buy the whole Driveshaft?? as I could not find any on Ebay.

Again, I'm no expert when it comes to this car but as far as I know the ring is part of the wheel bearing. So replacing it with an OEM Jag bearing would fix that. But if that were the cause I don't think the light would come on immediately at start up. I had an issue with the wheel bearing like I mentioned, and it would take a few minutes of driving for that light to come on. I don't think the pads would have anything to do with it either.

To me it seems like a bad sensor/wire or maybe the ABS module. You'd probably benefit from a better diagnosis though, perhaps from the dealer.

No problem, glad to help a fellow Jag owner.

I think you'll find that the OBDII scanner you have will only read P- codes. I'm not sure that you'll be able to diagnose the ABS light with that. Unfortunately, you may have to go to the dealer and pay them about $100 to diagnose it. Even other shops that have scanners capable of reading these codes will charge you around $100, so you're best bet would be the dealer if you can't figure it out.

Right so I got hold of ScanXLPro for my laptop and I got the obd2 to usb converter and Plugged it in to scan for errors and what happened to come out is error c1155 which is front left speed/abs sensor I will try and have a look at the connection tomorrow as this is the only thing that comes to my mind what might be wrong as I gave the sensor a really good clean.
But the most interesting thing is the 1st time I plugged in my obd scanner it came up with c1155 and the other 2 or 3 errors but when I cleaned the sensor the error did not come up anymore but now when I got the program for my laptop and rung through diagnostics and scan for errors this error comes up straight away even though its not on the scanner.
Will update soon

UPDATE!!!!!!
So as I bought new rear brakes and disks I took of the hub and guess what I found..... the abs ring on left rear was snapped in half and or the rear right the ring was in 3 pieces.
I did not have enough time to have a look at the front but when Im done with the back I will move on to the front. Now I have to look for the ring, I went down to the dealer and they said they cant just sell me the ring alone they said I need the whole driveshaft which is £270......HEHEHE NO
So thats it for now but with the front I think its just a bad sensor connection, thats it for now, will post some pics soon

Also I got to figure out what is wrong with the front left I hope its only the sensor connection or the sensor itself.
