Default Flashing Glow Plugs

Hi,

As username suggest i am a newbie!

Just got my x type 2.0 diesel 08 plate, Love it!

On a couple of occasions i have been aggressively accelerating and the glow plugs light has come on flashing amber, loss of power. Pull over restart engine and fine again.

Is this a case of replacing plugs or something else?

The flashing glow plug light indicates a fault within the fuel system. Try to get a code reader on it but from past experiences it is usually a drop in common rail fuel pressure but could be many things related to the injection side.

Default flashing glow plug

flashing glow plug light on a 2.0l indicates you are in safe mode (get you home) and from what you say it is most likely a clogged turbo (variable viens get clogged with carbon) common fault with both x type and mk3 Mondeo.
I had the same problem, you can clean the turbo with innotech foam not a hard job just drop the cat.

Hi newbee
have a look at innotec website innotec turbo clean.
all you do is lower the catalytic converter to feed it into the turbo
