Default Flat spot moving off

Hello, prior to posting this I had a good search for answers but could not quite hit the spot in terms of the fault I think may be present on my X Type 2.2 D Sport.

A few days ago, when moving off from a cold start, (1st gear actually pulling away from a standstill) the car lost power and felt like I had almost stalled it. I thought it was my error or imagination, however it has done it about three times in the last seven days. It loses power moving off from cold and also did it on two occasions when I accelerated after changing to 2nd gear after moving off, again cold.

I would say the problem is getting steadily worse and of course power loss especially when pulling away at roundabouts etc isn't good for health and safety.

The car has a new EGR valve which is about six months old, and prior to the past few days has ran perfectly.

I have seen a few posts about the fuel pressure regulator on the common rail, however if anyone has experienced this and can point me in the direction of a fix, it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi I have the same vehicle and suffered the same problem but not quite as severe. Cured it by cleaning the NAF sensor.
Be careful if you do this and only use the correct fluid.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Dunks, interesting.
I was pretty much convinced that the fault was the glow plugs, which I am pretty sure are the originals. That said, I had not thought about cleaning the MAF so will do that. Will do some research as to best cleaner, I am guessing it's carb cleaner.

Cheers
