Default Front Lip/Apron/Spoiler Removal?

Hi guys, I am getting a new front bumper and I have the old front bumper still with the front lip attached to it. The car is at the shop now and the guy is going to need to remove the lip and put it on the new bumper.

My question is: When he removes the lip/attaches it to the new bumper, won't the fiberglass compress/stretch, which will cause all the paint to crack?

I think most factory bumpers and lips are made of plastic. as long as the shop guys be careful not to excessively bend the lip it should be fine. not a lot of bending has to be done to remove and place the lip on the bumper. also, ask them to place the lip and new front bumper on a large rug or towels so that it doesn't get scratched up by the shop floor.

Thanks for the help funkdoktor.

I have the fiberglass one though, from Mina Gallery. Do you think that'll make a difference in how much it bends?

i don't see a problem with them putting it on the new bumper as most people paint it separately from the bumper anyway therefore putting it on just like the shop is doing with yours. is this a body shop? or a mechanic shop?
