Funny story of the day
Mom comes home this evening a bit weary since she had her first engine light.
I take a look and it was a red cel w/"boot open" in the message display (I know some of you are already chuckling!).
My first reaction was "wtf is a boot?" I check all the doors, and nada. I then open the engine compartment and inspect everything. My intial reaction was the battery tray being loose. Nope not that. Perhaps, the gas cap...nope!
At this point I'm totally confused. I glanced through the manual, and there's no indication of what a "boot" refers to. So I go about checking the tire pressure valve caps
!
Well, I'm sure you guys are aware of this but "boot" refers to trunk. Man, you'd think they'd either one, indicate it in the manual or two, change the lingo on the display indicator from brit english!!!
Well, that sure was an interesting experience. 20 minutes to figure out the trunk wasn't closed!!! Hah!

Seriously though........I'm chucklin about it here as I write this...........there's some real crackers in the "translation" from English UK to English US.

f***ing english!
try reading their service literature. their orientationfor the car, of left and right, is different than ours. especially when your testing oxygen sensor harnesses.

The other night my wife and I got a new fax machine. We decided to use the French instructions. We both felt very Continental.
Buck, wait until you find out the "hood" is over year head and the "bonnet" covers the engine!
