Fuse 37 30amp blowing
2005 xtype estate hi my xtype heater stopped working after car stood for 6 months was fine before now when I turn on heater fuse 37 blows no sound from fan after 3 to 5 seconds pop another fuse gone is it the motor or anything else
Paully, I would start with unplugging the power plug to the blower motor. If you can turn on the dash stuff and the fuse does not blow, then odds are, your problem is the fan binding up, leading to an over current condition. If this is the case, then you can remove the fan and spin it by hand. Odds are, you will find that it is not going to spin very easy. You should be able to spin it by hand and have it spin for 5-10 seconds. If you find it only spins for a second or so, then you have bearings or a stator that are failing.
I just had my fan out about a week ago ( fixing recirc blend door ) I like never got that plug in the fan to come loose so if needed use a flat blade screwdriver to help pry the plug if yours doesn’t come apart easy
Thanks for the help yes the fan was stuck managed to free off and test working but only on maximum I think because the fan a bit stiff not blowing fuse so I’ve ordered a new unit from eBay £44 just glad I can de-mist the screen again thanks for replying I’m new to forums but they are better than any manual
