02x type, got gear error, puts vehicle in "safe mode" or "limp home mode" yellow light on speedo.
Dealer scanned and said "5th gear ratio incorrect"
Dealer wants 8grand for a new transmission..
Apparently the fluid is burnt and there is metal in it.
MR Transmission said tha they could rebuild it however jaguar only sells full transmissions, not parts to fix them..now that is BS.

So any suggustions?
I'm in toronto ontario canada if anyone knows somewhere that can fix this please let me know,

 

I just had my tranny replaced by the dealer with a reman Jatco unit from Jaguar for less than $5,000 U.S. I'm not up on the US - CAN exchange rate or anything but $8k sounds pretty high. You could think about a used tranny, probably your only cheaper option but that comes with a lot of risk, or try another dealer if you can.
