Default Gearbox

Hi,ive had my x-type for about two months now with no problems only now gear selection seems to be a bit hit and miss.
There seems to no problem with the clutch,no slipping etc.
When parked selecting reverse can be difficult but not all the time.
When driving the car gear selection is fine.

I have a 2004 x-type,2.0 petrol.

At the risk of asking the obvious...are you sure you are lifting up the reverse lock-out part of the shifter as far as it will go? Failure to do that would likely create issues getting into reverse...

This is a common issue. seems to happen more often when it is cold. I usually just go in to first gear and then go in to reverse. First gear is easier to get in to, and then reverse has no issues.

Many thanks for the replies,i will certainly try the first gear and then reverse.
As far as I am aware I am lifting up the reverse lock-out part of the shifter as far as it will go.
Again many thanks.
