gearbox fault
i have a 2002 3.0 xtype
i was playing around with the j-gate one day while driving.
a light appear say '' cruse not available''. i pull over and shut the car off then turn it on.
and it was gone. a few minutes later my dash was like a christmas tree. ABS LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT, DSC OFF, GEARBOX FAULT they all came on. i tried to restart the car again but the light remain.
i came home and park the car. later on that night i started the car and the ABS AND BREAK LIGHT were still on. the car drove fine for about 5 mins then i felt a little bump then it said GEARBOX FAULT, the started driving strange. its like it drinvig in 4th gear only. when im on the highway it pick up speed. but the minute i stop it move very slow then picks up slowly.
now heres the thing i drove the car for while then took it to my mechanic. she the the tranny was on its way out. i have to rebuild or change it.
i hand appointment with him to get it rebuild. that very morning i was driving my wife to work and the car gave up. thew tranny was gone.
i took to the mechanic and he replaced the tranny but the car GEARBOX FAULT still there with his other LIGHT FRIENDS. its also in 4th gear still.
HEEEEELPP!
one more thing the code im getting all the time is p1637

I just saw the same message this morning after having someone clear a CEL.. I shut off the car and restarted and havent saw the Gearbox Fault since. I also have my brake light on with a "low brake fluid level" message. The fluid reservoir is full so may be a sensor..

If your car is still not working correctly and the error code and his light friends are still hanging out in your dash - what exactly did you pay the mechanic to do? Usually when paying someone to swap out a tranny for you, the intent of said service is to get the car to run as it should, not just for the sake of a parts exchange.
Sounds to me like he didn't finish the job. Go get what you paid for.
