Default Gearbox Fault

Hi

I recently installed a new radio unit in to my 2002 X-Type 2.0 V6 Auto. I had to move the shifter in to drive to be able to remove the ashtray. When I have put everything back together, it now won't move out of park, won't start and displays a gearbox fault. I had thought I had maybe been a little forceful with the shifter, so I bought a re-conditioned J' Drive. However, I get the same issue. I have check all relating fuses, which were all fine. I had read another post, which indicated to disconnect the battery, which I did, but still get the message. I've disconnected again and will leave overnight (because at this point I'll try anything). I have purchased a '

' to see if it pulls anything up. Prior to this the car was running fantastic, I have only just bought it.

Before I have to make the dreaded call for a professional, has anybody any suggestions I could try?

Thanks in advance for your help.
