Default Help! Gearbox fault

I was taking out my stereo while parked and moved the shifter to drive for clearance. Normally this doesn’t cause any issues but I must have left it this way overnight and now I have a gearbox fault and the car won’t start. Is there some way to reset this? The car was fine when I parked it and I cannot find any information on this

This thread seems to indicate that the climate controls must be connected correctly to start the engine. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...alling-155157/
Having worked on the stereo, that might be a source of your starting problem.

I should have noticed immediately the climate control didn’t turn on... so thanks so much for that. Despite the connections being color coded, I unplugged them and tried to switch them anyway but they do not fit in the wrong plug. For some reason though when I reconnected them I heard a faint beep and tried to start my car again and it worked and the heat was on. Very odd it didn’t work the first time I plugged it in but I’m glad you suggested that!
