Default Harsh Ride Question

From the time we bought our X Type with 20,000 miles on it had a harsh and noisy ride. Handled great but rode hard and noisy. Tires make no difference. For anybody that has changed the shocks, did that make any difference at all in this condition or is this just the nature of the beast? Did Jag forget to put the rubber spring insulators in on these cars? Just wondering what anybody's experience has been in improving the ride quality.
Thanks

Is yours the sport model?

We have on 04' sport model and it rides firm so I thought you might have the same. My wife would prefer a smoother ride but I told her that the sport model has a stiffer ride because it's designed that way. Here's a link that describes the sport option: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-model-117593/

I'm familiar with the sport option and the one we have is the standard setup which is what perplexes me. I can drive over a dime and tell you if it's heads or tails. It's been this way ever since we bought it in 2005 and initially I cursed the Continental Conti Contact Pros for being the culprit but that was misdirected. I have the same tires on my Golf TDI and the ride is excellent so it's in the suspension of the Jag. It's almost as if there are body insulators missing somewhere. I don't believe it's the shocks since it's been like this since we bought it with 20,000± miles on it. Would anyone with the standard "comfort" suspension care to comment?

Is there any clunking in the noise? I replaced my sway bar bushings and end links and that improved the ride quality along with the noise.

No, everything is solid. I may just endure this a bit longer and then replace the struts and shocks as we're at 60,000 miles now. Hopefully that will be an improvement.
