Which model x type came with the electric heated front screen ? Is it from a particular year on or just fitted to certain models or was it only customer request only ?

 

It was an option on most models; what is your reason for asking? are you wanting to find a car with this item fitted?
It was fitted to cars for different markets on different models, often as an option and occasionally as standard - for example, it was very common on Canadian-market cars and not very common on US-market cars - but probably because most Canadian buyers selected the option. The heated windscreen was often combined with the heated front seats and headlamp power wash in a "weather package" - but again this varied from country to country. The control for the windscreen heater is in the same place as the control for the heated backlight; in other words if the car does not have the heated windscreen, then the backlight button is double width.

 

I'm looking to buy an x type a d want aheated screen as i work mights and scraping ice off in the middle of the night after a shift is not my idea of fun.
