Heated O2 Sensor, guess it is cooked.
I've got under 400 miles in since I bought this critter, and pulled the entire historical codes list on the car before I bought it.
Front upper HO2S sensor starts throwing 1647s at me on cold start ups, so I checked the heater resistance. a bit over 700 ohms...well, that is a lot more than the 0.8 to 1.2 ohms it should be, so I guess it needs to be replaced.
Pity, because I scoped the lambda side of the sensor, perfect sinewave, .98-1.0 volts...so that part is working just fine.
Looks like the previous owner had the rear (1646) sensor replaced about 3000 miles ago, so at least he left me the easy one!
In the good news department, it isn't like I need to go buy one, since the 2002 is still here being torn down!

Well on the bright side you don't have to wait for one to be shipped. Have you checked for corrosion at the connector, The connector is mounted under the battery and that may the reason for the high resistance.
