Help! 2002 x-type y exhaust y pipe installation - RESOLVED
replacing mufflers and y pipe, but I cant get the y pipe up above the rear differential. am I missing something? do I need to drop the rear end?

I'd expected the resident experts to be along before now!
Here's the JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System - Workshop Manual) section on removal and refitting the rear muffler and tailpipe:
JTIS - X Type Rear Muffler & Tailpipe.pdf
Here is the equivalent for the front muffler:

i ended up cutting off the right (passenger) side of the Y pipe and welding on a 4 inch splice, which allowed enough room to get it up in there. I then just clamped the cut off piece onto the splice and attached the mufflers.
