I've moved your post to the X Type section for a better response.

Lion, based on the codes that you are getting, I would start with simply accessing the plug wells. Unfortunately, the cylinders in question are the ones nearest the firewall. So, you will need to pull the intake off of the car to access them. It is not an uncommon issue to have an oil leak that gets into the plug wells and causes them to short out, leading to the misfires. When you pull the coil, you will see oil on the tip where it connects to the spark plug.

The other possibility is if you open the hood/bonnet and look towards the front of the engine (to your left), at the edge of the cylinder head (next to the headlight), you should see where there are 6 terminal lugs bolted to the engine block. If you follow these wires back, they will go to the coils. These have been known to get rusty and lead to a misfire issue. Undoing the bolt and cleaning up the lugs may make things better for you too. Just follow the wiring harness from a coil to where it bolts to the engine. Simply using a wire brush on the surfaces to get them from a rust color back to a silver color should be all that you need to do.

If these two things do not fix your problems, let me know. The misfires (P0301/303/305) are causing the P0420 and P1313 codes.

Thanks thermo. Is this likely to be connected to the problem I have regarding the engine light, bucking engine at 3000 revs and cruise control not available.
cheers

Try not to drive it as it's causing damage.
