I have a 02 x-type that ive had a lil over 6 months with 102000miles. The check engine light has been on but in the last few days the car has been riding terrible. As car accelerates car shakes and if gas is pressed to hard car feels like its shutting off or stalling and rpm looks like its hesitating. It does the same thing while idle it still shakes but not real bad but if gas is pressed car seems like it wants to cut off. Codes that i got are 0305 1313 0057 0333 1647 1000 PLEASE HELP

Tony,

You must need a new keyboard. Your **** key isn't working!

Easy one first - P1000 just means onboard monitoring tests haven't been completed since last memory clear.

P0057 : HO2 sensor heater control circuit - high resistance Bank 2 downstream (2/2)
P0305 : Misfire detected - cylinder #5
P0333 : KS sense circuit out of range - low voltage
P1313 : Misfire rate - catalyst damage Bank 1
P1647 : ECM HO2 sensor control malfunction Bank 2 upstream (2/1)

I'll leave it to the X-Type experts to advise on actions required.

Graham

Sorry to hear of your issues Tony, but I'm sure we can help, or at least the X perts in the X type section can.

Really nice assist from Graham on the codes gives you a starting point.

Try to fix the "P0305 : Misfire detected - cylinder #5" first because the others may be a result of it. Is the plug OK, is the coil OK, is it plugged in correctly, is there oil in the plug hole, etc? Now the question is which is cylinder 5? My guess is cylinder next to the transmission on the bank next to the firewall. Do some searches to be sure.

PS... I used work for Intergraph and have been in Huntsville many times.

Hi sorry to hear you are having problems cylinder 5 is right hand cylinder in rear bank. If you need definitions of codes try these sites www.dtcsearch.com or www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/ they are pretty good

Help
I also forgot to mention that car was driven until gas was almost gone (waypast E) the day before issue started if that helps with anything

Fuel filter or fuel pump.

BTW, edited the title.

to access spark plug/coil in the rear bank...the intake manifold will need to be removed. there are many posts on this site with step by step pics to assist you with this. It sounds more complicated than it actually is, takes about 30 minutes +- to remove the intake manifold....good idea to buy new gaskets before installing the manifold back on...gaskets are super cheap at advance auto...i think about $12 for all six...ask for "upper intake gaskets"....if you are handy with engines, while the intake is off you can also replace the LOWER intake gaskets, an extra 20 minutes will be needed
