I need some help trying to track down a couple parts. I have a 2003 X-Type.

The first thing I need is the wood shifting knob for an automatic transmission.

The second part I need is a bit harder to describe. It part of what I have always called the dash board, but the term "Dash board" is showing other parts of the interior. So what I'm looking for is the vinyl covered part of the dashboard that contain the vents for the defrost, and sides up against the windshield. Mine has become warped and the vent covers no longer fit in correctly.

If you really want a beautiful shift knob...britishautowood in Florida makes the best I've seen. Got one on my cat, and it is great. Finish and wood type is exceptional, and he puts the growler, leapere, or the coventry logo in the knob.

 

I agree with your description of 'dash defroster vents'. But the JEPC describes them as 'facia windscreen demister grilles'. Part number depends on serial number and color. The pricing goes from high to higher. The supporting vendors give members a break but I would look on e-bay or local junk yard.
