Default Help needed on Strut Mount Assembly

Hi guys,

I ordered new Monroe struts and strut mounts for my 2007 X-type. As I look at the new mounts, I see 4 bolts. However, as I look at the existing mounts from under the hood, I see only 3 bolts holes and bolts.

Am I screwed or might there be a 4th hole drilled under the mount that I cannot see from the top?

All help is appreciated.

Thanks

I had my struts off last week and there are only 3 holes in the top strut mount. I wouldn't risk drilling another either.

Don't drill it. I think they gave you the wrong part.

Return them. They sent you the wrong ones.

Sending back Monoe parts. Think I will go with Billstein Comfort struts.

Opinion on that?

Definitely go the Billstein route. The factory shocks are "shockingly" not that expensive, which are made by Billstein anyway. I upgraded the shocks and springs to the factory Sport a year after I bought the car new. If I were you, I definitely consider the Sport option over the Comfort, it's no where near the harshness of an Audi or BMW, it's just stiff enough to eliminate that Cadi-like bounce.
